If I have to describe a typical workday of mine, I might use words such as challenging, fast-paced, dynamic, etc. You get the idea. I’m pretty sure all of these adjectives sound really familiar to the majority of you out there.

See, my work as a CEO of an agency based in the IT world could easily become a nightmare of chaos and distress, if I haven’t found some useful tools and tactics to keep everything in order. All of us are really lucky in fact — nowadays we have all the apps and help we need at our fingertips. From managing apps, language studying, virtual assistants, GPS maps, weather apps, chats, to office software and calorie counters — all we have to do is search for the best option and get it on our devices.

At work, I have a lot on my hands so I do need some extra help

My typical workday goes something like this: I get up very early, do some sports, get to the office, and prepare myself physically and mentally for the wave of choirs and tasks I have to face.

As a CEO, my main task is to properly manage both my team and the ongoing incoming clients’ requests and projects. You can imagine how busy it can get at times. So far the best solution I’ve found has to do with using some really great tools and apps.

Today I’ve decided to share with you some of them as I’m certain they will come in handy. Another great news is that these tools are not compatible with IT and web dev stuff only — practically anyone can benefit from them, regardless of the professional field in question.

7 great tools for business — these are literally life-savers

If I have to give a basic overall of the tools’ essence, I’d say that they serve as the perfect helpers for

task management, communication, mailing client, utility, and focus.

In my day-to-day I use:

  1. Asana — a great task manager that helps me put everything in order;
  2. Business Calendar App — an android-based tool that allows you to have your calendar instead of the home screen;
  3. Slack — the best way for me and my team to communicate on a daily basis;
  4. Grammarly — as a non-native English speaker I find this correcting tool exceptionally useful;
  5. Social Fixer — if you are a fan of Google Chrome then this hiding distraction areas from Facebook tool will become your favorite;
  6. Thunderbird — one of the best mail clients out there;
  7. The Great Suspender — a crucial part of coding and programming tasks is to have your PC’s ram memory free and this tool helps you do just that;

Sounds good? Let’s discuss each and every one of those some more, so you can get a full idea of their purpose.

Asana

When it comes to managing your daily tasks, there are usually three different approaches, two of which can go incredibly wrong.

You can keep everything in a notebook, you can try to memorize it all, or you can simply use a digital task manager such as Asana. Notebooks easily get lost and memo notes usually disappear without a trace. Asana, on the other hand, really helps in organizing both all of my personal tasks, as well as all of my team’s. We can easily assign each other projects, keep track of deadlines, and have notes on everything that comes to mind.

Business Calendar App

The Business Calendar App is an incredibly useful tool for everyone who usually has a lot to do in a single day. The tool incorporates a daily, monthly, and yearly calendar, where you can easily keep track of all your events, both professional and personal.

I like it because it serves as something way more than a basic calendar app. It features all kinds of agendas, events overviews, easy switching between timelines, synchronization with all famous other calendars for easy integration, plenty of widgets, and custom options for personalization.

Slack

I believe in communication at all levels — friendly, professional, supportive discussions. I lead a team of fellow experts and professionals so I need a tool that helps all of us share digital space.

We use Slack — this tool is user-friendly and allows creating separate rooms with members for specific discussions. This way every colleague of mine can communicate with others and with me in the easiest way possible. Slack allows file transfer also and is customizable.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a great tool for mastering the English language when writing. Mistake-free and well-structured texts are a must for various types of businesses.

You can use Grammarly both on its own as writing software and as an add-on to your browser for example. This way it scans all your written texts and suggests corrections when needed. You can unlock the full features with a subscription, but the free version is also a great source for pristine texts.

Social Fixer

If you are like me and social media is sometimes crucial for your business development (people often choose to scan my agency’s page for more information and send questions), then you probably sometimes get annoyed by all the unnecessary content out there.

Social Fixer is software that integrates with your browser and its main goal is to drastically improve your experience while browsing Facebook. It blocks sponsored posts, ads, and it can even show on your feed the most recent posts first. It also saves time! With Social Fixer you can view posts with certain keywords and topics with priority and it also doesn’t show posts you have already seen. Check it out, you will be surprised with its features.

Thunderbird

In today’s digital era practically every business shares space online and needs an email. Thunderbird is a great email client that allows you to connect your e-addresses on every device you own. This way you’ll never miss an important message even when on the go. It’s pretty clear why a software of this type is so important, isn’t it?

The Great Suspender

Leaving apps open even when you finished using them is something we all do. But, in my case, this can drastically slow down my PC or laptop. For coding, programming, meeting clients over Zoom, and multitasking various other agendas, I need my ram memory as free as possible. The Great Suspender does exactly this and I highly recommend it to all of you for who speed is a must when working.

Of course, those are not the only tools I rely on in my workday, but they most certainly are some of the most frequently used. I truly believe they do the trick and represent great pieces of software. Try them out and share your experience!
